Twas a sunny Saturday afternoon and Michael and I were in for a taste…or better yet, a Bite of San Diego. On this day we’d get to take a bite out of La Jolla. They run food tours all around San Diego in eight or so different locations including North Park, Little Italy, and Hillcrest amongst others. We wanted to see what La Jolla had to offer since we don’t get to eat out in the area as much as we’d like to. Let’s see what goodies we encountered along the way!…Read more
It was way back in 2011 when Jorgina posted about Azucar in Ocean Beach. Can’t believe it has been that long. We haven’t had a follow up post since then, so what better time than now!? It doesn’t hurt that they hopped on the cronuts train and serve their very own “craynuts” as they like to call them, every Monday at 12:00pm sharp. Anh and I have been on a mission to try our very own first cronut, but Paris Baguette has failed us a few times by selling out too fast. …Read more
China Quik Wok is a tiny restaurant tucked away into a commercial shopping center close to the intersection of Balboa and Genesee. (Also the same mall as Nazca Grill.)
I decided to try this place out as I heard they had knife cut noodles.
I came here for dinner, but looks like they have a pretty cheap lunch special!
The modest inside was no frills, but I liked that you could see the cooks in the back preparing the food.
Seats were a bit hard.
So here they are. The House Special Chow Mein with knife cut noodles. …Read more
Last week Fabiana and I got a chance to tour the new San Diego International Airport. Not only did we see the sleek new green building elements, but we also got to sample many of the new food offerings! Our newest member Fabiana has a lot to say about it so I’ll get out of the way and just drop my random commentary (denoted by D) throughout the post.
Who would think that waiting for a plane could be so much fun? And delicious!
The new expanded Terminal at the San Diego International Airport gives a whole new approach on how to feed their guests.…Read more
Anh and I visited an Argentinian Steakhouse a little while back in Little Italy. We didn’t know there was such a place in that location but off we were. We do tend to get random deals to restaurants that we’ve never been to before and hope to find good food around the bend.
The menu had some nice pictures and wasn’t super complex so after perusing it we ordered some grub!
We got there kind of early so we were the only patrons enjoying the Puerto La Boca ambiance. We liked the open kitchen and a cozy private room in the back. …Read more
When I was invited to be part of the Dos Equis’ Bazaar Noir, my mind was ready for a crazy new experience. After it was over, not only my mind but my whole body was overwhelmed with the music, the smells, tastes, color and fun. Everything was planned to put you out of your comfort zone from beginning to end.
When we got there at 7:30pm, we were given a little card that we carried during the whole night. Every time we experienced something, a corner of your card was punched.…Read more
