T-Pop Desserts & More (Mira Mesa)

T-Pop Desserts & More (Mira Mesa)

After my friends and I attended the D6 Night Market a few months ago, I guess we weren’t done eating yet. My strategic stomach space planning didn’t factor in an extra food stop. Here I thought I was the crazed foodie. My fellow food loving peoples wanted to stop by T-Pop Desserts & More for, well…more. They were taking me somewhere I had never been before but had heard a lot about. The pictures looked great from what I saw in other reviews, so in the very least it would make for a good presentation.…

Vessel’s Summer Menu at Kona Kai Resort, San Diego

Vessel’s Summer Menu at Kona Kai Resort, San Diego

What better way to kick off Summer than with an invitation to visit one of our favorite restaurants in San Diego – Vessel at Kona Kai Resort!  IMG_2058

We were invited to check out Chef Roy’s new Summer Tasting Menu along with a craft beer pairing.  Would it live up to the previous menu (Vessel Fall Menu Review)?

First up was the 48 Hour Pork Belly – plantain powder, sweet potato spaetzle, anise, & bitter chocolate

I must say I loved the presentation.  The pork belly was tasty for sure, and it was interesting to have it spiced with anise.  …

D6 Night Market (Mira Mesa)

I got a chance to go to the D6 Night Market in Mira Mesa a few weekends ago held at Mira Mesa Community Park. If there is one thing I learned about these events it’s come early if you don’t like to wait in long lines and potentially miss out on some things that may sell out. This particular night market is named after San Diego’s City Council District 6, which includes Clairemont, Kearny Mesa, MCAS Miramar, Mira Mesa, Rancho Peñasquitos-Park Village, and Sorrento Valley.

Sharetea Grand Opening (Kearny Mesa)

When I first moved to San Diego in 2005 I would guess that Michael had consumed over double the amount of boba as I had up to that point in our lives. Now that I have been with Anh for over five years now, I think I easily have caught up with him and maybe even surpassed his sizable boba consumption count. If we decided to get boba at one place for the rest of our lives we probably could single-handedly keep them in business with the amount of boba we drink.…

85°C Bakery Cafe(Clairemont)

DSC_0250Back in the day a trip up to LA or the SGV area wasn’t complete without a visit to 85°C. But over the last year or two, our visits have become less frequent. And nothing really changed up there. They sell the same quality tasty treats. The lines were as long as they ever were. Did we just get over it or would we be more inclined to visit more often if there was one closer to us? They’ve been in town since November of last year and we’ve only been once…

Wang’s North Park

Wang’s North Park

DSC_0001

Wang’s North Park has been around since 2011 and serves up Asian fusion fare. The only time I sampled their food was during a Taste of North Park event a few years back. That was only one item but on this night we had a wide range of dishes to fill our tummies.Wangs Collage

Immediately as you enter the doors you kind of forget where you are. They have a huge space and converted it into a restaurant from an old JC Penny department store. There is a bar, couches, tables, and booth seating throughout.…

QT Pot or Quality Taste Pot has been open since about September and we actually went a few weeks back but only got a chance to put something up until now. I hope to give it another try at some point down the road. They serve small hot pots that are more than enough for Anh and I. We used to go to Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot fairly often, but we switched to E & Drink when it opened because of location, the better price, and their hot pot lunch specials.…

Iceskimo – Shaved Ice – San Diego, Convoy

20141106_132127

Darren and I first tried Iceskimo this Summer when they opened up as a popup store (inside the Pangea Bakery).  They only had a few options back then, but it was certainly memorable as our favorite snow ice in San Diego.  (*If you’re from L.A. you probably have had, or heard of Blockheads).  Anyhow, Iceskimo finally opened their brick and mortar store on the corner of the Dumpling Inn shopping center Nov. 1st.  Parking isn’t the best, but it’s worth the hassle IMHO. 20141106_132158

Inside is a simple and clean setup.  You can choose from two sizes, regular or large.…
