So Jorgina and I stumbled onto Tigris Mediterranean Grille the other week after a quick trip to her dentist in Kearny Mesa.  It’s just West of the 15 Fwy off of Clairemont Mesa Dr. and Overland Ave.  The parking lot in the shopping center was a bit dense, but luckily we found one before the lunch rush.

Inside we were happy to find a quick service Mediterranean grill where you can watch the action of them preparing your food.

The Halal Guys – Costa Mesa

So, I got pretty excited when I heard The Halal Guys was opening up shop in SoCal!  Our friend Kirbie tipped us off here.

Anyhow, The Halal Guys is a special memory for my wife and I because it was the very first place we ever ate in NYC in 2003.

I’ve been waiting a while for the pop up restaurants to come to San Diego with more frequency.  So when this opportunity came up we couldn’t pass it by!  As the sheet below mentions this was located at California Kebab right by San Diego State.  On these Saturday’s the shop operates as House of Khan and not California Kebab.  There’s only room for one chef in the kitchen at a time!  🙂  Also, it’s only here until the end of August so if you want in you better save a spot!…

The Kebab Shop (Downtown)

It has been a while since Anh and I had gone to get the type of food served at the kebab shop.  I’m actually not sure if we’ve ever gone to a kebab place together.  So it was an adventure to be had!  The front of the restaurant gives customers an idea of what to expect inside and the logo against the brick wall is a nice touch.

You can see the various meats from the window outside, calling your name and enticing you to come in.  Once you get that close the aroma takes over and you may just find yourself ordering something!…
