SNOICE in Paradise Hills, San Diego

PB140260

Just prior to Thanksgiving, we made a quick trip up to Paradise Hills to check out SNOICE.

*If you look a little closer, you’ll notice my daughter just outside the front door super eager to go inside!  Somehow she knew she’d be in a for a special treat.

SNOICE specializes in snow and ice desserts traditionally found in Taiwan and the Philipines.

They have a pretty cool story.  The founders, Jayrell and Dianne, started it up as a side project of the side of Dianne’s parents’ bakery.

What started out as a pop-up dessert bar has since evolved into a full fledged storefront and viable business.  …

Cinnaholic – Mission Valley

Cinnaholic – Mission Valley

Cinnaholic

Last week Darren and I had the opportunity to visit Cinnaholic in Mission Valley.

If you’re wondering why this sounds familiar, you may have seen them on Shark Tank last season!

They are located in the Mission Valley mall nearby the Macy’s and Nordstrom Rack wing.

Since I was on Daddy duty this day, I decided to bring along Lil K and Lil L.

Once we placed our order, they wasted no time climbing up on the bar to watch their mini cinnamon rolls being prepared!

Green China Grill – Convoy Area

IMG_2133

We’d been wanting to try out Green China Grill for a little while now after reading reviews from our friends at Jinxi Eats, Kirbie Cravings, and Mmm-yoso.

We decided to finally try it with Darren and Anh.

Inside is definitely green!

IMG_2160

They have a nice open layout and a large window into the kitchen and a direct view to watch them make their noodles by hand.

IMG_2164

They also serve several cold items, but we didn’t get any this time around.

Spitz San Diego – Mediterranean Street Food

IMG_1648

Who say’s you can’t eat and play at the same time?

Spitz Mediterranean Street Food recently made a splash into San Diego with a focus on tasty food and fun.  With four L.A. based locations, Spitz has since expanded south to sunny San Diego in the Hillcrest area.

IMG_1650

The location is right on 5th Ave. and we luckily found parking quickly.

As their name would suggest, Spitz serves several main entrees based off their döner meat (choice of beef & lamb, chicken, or mixed meat).

They sent us a gift card, so we decided to try out several things this day.…

DoorDash

DoorDash

Have you heard of DoorDash before? You might not have as they are relatively new to San Diego. They have an app you can download (you can use a web browser too) which allows you to order food or drinks from the comfort of your home. The restaurant prepares your order, and a delivery person or “dasher” comes to pick it up and deliver it to your house. There is a delivery fee of $3.99 for DoorDash Select restaurants or alternatively it costs $6.99 for other restaurants that are not DoorDash Select.…

Coasterra – Harbor Island, San Diego Bay

IMG_9703

We had a good friend come into town to visit us from the Bay a couple weeks ago.  Since we were over by the airport, we decided to put our name into C-Level which is usually packed on the weekends.  To our surprise we found no wait.

We quickly realized that there was a new restaurant just a couple hundred feet from C-Level that quickly caught our eye.  So, after picking up our friend we decided to give the new place a try.

Coasterra is the newest restaurant to open on Harbor Island and they have been operating for a half year or so.  …

Kung Fu Tea – San Diego (Kearny Mesa)

IMG_1058

So Darren and I first noticed Kung Fu Tea a couple weeks ago while we were eating dessert at Blush (same shopping center).  It was clearly under construction and didn’t look that far along.  Darren mentioned he’d seen them in Las Vegas before, but didn’t have the opportunity to try them.

Anyhow, I was driving up to LA this past weekend and was headed over to MiTea.  Before I got there, I noticed an open sign and the Kung Fu Tea sign nice and bright.  So, I decided to check it out quickly.…

Ocean Pacific Grille – Downtown San Diego, Gaslamp

A quick shout out to my neighbors, Russ and Berm, who turned me on to Ocean Pacific Grille right when they opened up 4 months ago.  They’ve been raving about them ever since.  So, I’ve been wanting to try them for some time now, but always had some sort of scheduling conflict.

Luckily for us, Kat from Crave Marketing, invited us to check them out recently.  So of course we jumped at the opportunity when it arrived and said, YES!
