The Patio – San Diego (Goldfinch)

The Patio – San Diego (Goldfinch)

DSC_0058

The Patio on Goldfinch just recently opened its doors a few months ago (June ’14) and is the latest addition to Mission Hills’ impressive line up of eclectic eateries.  They serve breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner, and have 12 taps onsite, plus an impressive bottle lineup.

When I first walked in, I was definitely impressed with the decor.  The space is made bright with large skylights, a huge living wall of plants, and sunlight to spare.  It’s also dog friendly.

Cucina Urbana

Cucina Urbana

cu menu cover

If you were to ask me my top 10 favorite overall restaurants in San Diego, Cucina Urbana would be right at the top of this list.  Their perfect balance of awesome food & drinks, plus decor and ambiance is hard to beat.  However, this is no big secret to most San Diego anymore.  Thus, it’s been quite awhile since we’ve been here due to their sheer popularity.  However, since we had family in town last week, we decided to plan a bit further ahead and made reservations early.  I’m glad we did.…

Rubicon Deli in San Diego (Mission Hills)

Rubicon Deli in San Diego (Mission Hills)

Rubicon Deli in Mission Hills (Central San Diego) is officially open for business!  For those of you who aren’t already familiar, Rubicon Deli is a very popular custom sandwich destination in the Mission Beach area.  When I first noticed a new location in San Diego, I was super excited!  The Mission Beach location is excellent, but quite a pain to get to and parking is plain tough.  This new location is right off of India St. nearby El Indio and Blue Water Grill.

We decided to stop by for an early lunch today.  …

Lucha Libre es muy delicioso!

Lucha Libre es muy delicioso!

So, I’ve seen the outside of Lucha Libre before in the Mission Hills area by the India Street restaurants. I thought…just another San Diego taco shop. Nothing new, right? Wrong! After watching Adam Richman’s Man vs. Food San Diego episode, I was inspired to try their famous Surfin’ California burrito. I mean…if Adam would feature Lucha Libre alongside restaurants like the Broken Yolk and Phil’s BBQ, this place must be special.

When we arrived, it was nice to find a little shared parking lot to the side because it would be near impossible to eat here otherwise.…
