El Agave – Old Town Revisit

El Agave – Old Town Revisit

The last time we visited El Agave we were invited to try some of their new vegetarian items. They invited us again to try out a new happy hour menu along with some other additions they added recently.

Light passes through each glass bottle of tequila, illuminating the room with a yellow hue. There is over 2000 bottles of tequila to choose from. Think about that for a second.

I hope the big earthquake doesn’t hit soon. A sea of yellow would flood the streets of Old Town!

This time we got bread along with our tortilla chips.…

El Agave – Old Town

El Agave – Old Town

If you’ve ever walked around Old Town San Diego before you might have never noticed El Agave. And it’s too bad because they have quite a fun spread above the Old Town Liquor and Deli on the first floor. It is located on the South Eastern end of Old Town, a little bit off the regular path you’ve probably walked many times before. They feature over 2000(!!!) different tequilas for you to try and some fantastic food to go along with it.

One nice thing about dining here is the parking lot shared with the other businesses.…

Taste of Old Town 2015

Taste of Old Town 2015

I forgot how much fun Old Town can be. It seems like such a touristy place to go, but it was a treat walking around soaking in the sites and sounds. We hadn’t been to a Taste of event in a while so it was nice to put on our loose pants and get out to conquer as many plates as we could. There were a total of 13 participating restaurants with food and beverage(mostly tequila) samples.

It’s not everyday a food blogger can snap pictures while listening to “Oye Como Va” being played live.…

I’ve been frequenting the Otay Ranch Farmers Market at the mall recently on Tuesdays.  We love getting the Pad-see-Ew from the Thai food vendor and lumpia from Gabina’s (5 for $2).

Which Farmer’s Market is your favorite?  Which vendors do you frequent?

Cafe Coyote (Old Town)

Cafe Coyote (Old Town)

Best news I got all Tuesday- it’s National Tequila Day (July 24th – sorry a little late!). Yes, someone finally made it an official day-I’m still waiting for the government to recognize it so I can get my rightfully earned day off, but until then I will go to a tequila pairing and tasting at Cafe Coyote because I’m a workaholic.

Those of you locals and most likely tourists too, have probably been to Old Town and been a victim of the tortilla ladies taunting you with the freshly warmed goodness that is known as a the flour tortilla, while you are strolling down the street or waiting in line for a table.…

Casa de Reyes (Old Town)

Casa de Reyes (Old Town)

Went to Old Town on a weekend with my boyfriend, Lemon (alright, it’s just a nickname). Believe it or not, it’s my very fist time to Old Town after years of living in San Diego. It’s a really nice place to go visit and walk around on a weekend. I am definitely going back again for food and a museum visit. Anyway, my focus is not on Old Town, but the place we had lunch that day at Casa de Reyes on the corner of Fiesta de Reyes.

It has a large amount of outdoor seating, and I like that, since there aren’t many outdoor seating restaurants in this beautiful city which has year round perfect weather.…
