Always on the lookout for fun new places, we heard about a new trendy dessert place called Afters opening not long ago. Their specialty? Ice cream filled donuts, or Milky Buns as they like to call them. It just so happened to be along the way on our road trip up north. What better time than now to stop by and check them out!? They have over 500 reviews on Yelp and have only been around since February. Afters Ice Cream is located in Fountain Valley off of the 405 freeway, about 90 miles north of San Diego and 40 miles south of Los Angeles.…Read more
Anh has been eyeing this place for awhile now as we pass by almost weekly to grab our free Friday Ralph’s items. It is located near SDSU, right across the street from Ralph’s in a small shopping mall. They serve snow cream, aka shaved snow, shaved ice, and ice cream. If you don’t know the difference between snow cream and shaved ice, don’t worry, after all they do all sound the same. The biggest difference is shaved ice is ground up ice flavored with different syrups and other toppings like condensed milk and ice cream.…Read more

I honestly never have thought to try bbq here before so I was interested to see what was going to come out on the plate. All of the bbq choices come with a slice of pie. …Read more
For those of you looking for a new tea place, look no further than M.I.Tea Express. It stands for “Made in Taiwan” and they just had their grand opening this last weekend. They had lion dance performances! Unfortunately I couldn’t make it but I was able to go three or four times during their soft opening period. M.I.Tea Express is located right next to the new Zion market off Clairemont Mesa Blvd.
The menu has slightly changed and they offer some food now. Lots of items to try on the menu huh? …Read more
