Happy Friday!! We recently were invited to visit Isabel’s Cantina. It has been four years since our first visit and I’m not quite sure why it has taken so long to visit them again. Last time I was blindfolded and led into the restaurant, only to find a table filled with friends and family there to celebrate my birthday. Surprise! A second Richard Walker’s Pancake House has opened its doors in La Jolla recently. The first San Diego location resides in downtown. We tried the downtown location years back and I honestly don’t remember too much about it, other than it could have been part of Taste of Downtown. They also have two other locations in Illinois, where the family business originally started.
They boast a spacious interior or if you prefer to dine in the sunshine, you can do so outside in the patio.

So, this time Food Network’s show, Restaurant: Impossible, motivated us to try out a new restaurant called the Trails, a neighborhood eatery, located in the San Carlos area of San Diego. In this series, the brawny, ex-British Navy chef, Robert Irvine takes on the challenge of renovating an unsuccessful restaurant in 2 days with a budget of $10,000. We were curious to see if media-hype could benefit a struggling restaurant, and we were excited to try out their cinnamon roll pancakes.

Cafe 21 is one of those San Diego eateries I love to go to. Never to turn down a good a mom and pop shop, this place has it all for breakfast. We got three different dishes and heeerrre theeey arreee.
Sausage omelet. Simple, good, yummy. It had italian sausage, tomatoes, and mozzarella cheese. All the omelet’s come out on a cast iron griddle and they come with toast and a side.
