Yes, this place is called Mr. Dumpling. It’s a little hidden but worth a visit here and there. I’d say Dumpling Inn is much better if you don’t’ mind the wait. But nevertheless, they got two dishes out of three down. It’s just that the third dish was what I was looking forward to most (steamed pork dumplings or xiao long bao).
The first dish was a beef and leek pancake. This was executed quite nicely. It had the perfect amount of crunch and good beef to leek ratio. The only thing was that it was a little salty.
The second was the Mr. Dumpling special dumplings. I rather enjoyed this one as well. Again, the dumplings were cooked perfectly and this was by far the best dish we had there. The texture of the dumpling and the filling coupled together when done properly transported me to Dumpling heaven for 20 minutes.
But as I said earlier this would not last very long as the XLB was very lackluster and broght me back to solid ground. It lacked the juicy broth and flavor I hope to taste every time I chomp down on XLB. I’d never order it again here but if I wanted some pan fried items I have a place to go.
