You can immediately tell that Chef John and his wife take pride in their establishment. There are very courteous and checked with each customer to see if they were okay after receiving their order. It appears that they are of Korean descent, but their fish and chips took me back to good memories in the U.K! Crispy, flaky, and full of flavor… mmmmm. It was definitely worth the trek out to Lemon Grove.
As you can see, the piece of fish spans the entire length of the basket. The batter was light (though a touch too oily) and the fish moist and delicious. I ordered mine with clam strips which were decent. However, being that I just went to Maine a year ago, I suppose I am spoiled. It wasn’t bad, but the clam strips were a bit too chewy for my liking.
Piping hot, the scallops had a very fresh flavor. The meat was sweet and perfectly complimented by the light, but flavorful batter. This time the coating was just right. Not too oily here! I think the scallop won hands down, followed closely by the fish.

I've read about this place on another blog – I totally want to go! Their logo is really cute, too. I want some shrimp in my belly 🙂
