Le Parfait Paris – Downtown San Diego

LeParfaitParis-DT1

Our favorite French Patisserie, Le Parfait Paris, has finally unveiled it’s newest storefront in the heart of downtown San Diego.  It’s been a special project in the works for the past year or so, but I assure you the wait has been well worth it.  Darren and I recently went to checkout the new location and definitely were not disappointed.  The new location is stunning.  With clean lines, colorful delights, and tall windows, the space couldn’t be more inviting.  They are also open late on weekends!

We were greeted with some classic delights, as well as some new ones too.  The macarons sit vividly front and center, followed by a few more cases showcasing their superb pastries, and savory offerings.

Le Parfait Paris is quickly becoming San Diego’s go to spot for French pastries, but you should also note their panini (grilled sandwich) selection.  These are perfect anytime for lunch, or try a L’Alsacien for breakfast.  They even have a couple quiches as well which I remember are perfectly flaky and buttery.

They also have a full Nescafé coffee bar to satisfy you coffee drinkers.  They also serve tea, and beer and wine too!

A close up of my favorite – Pan au chocolate!

LPP-DT3We decided to try some new things today (checkout our past posts 1 & 2 for our other notes).  Darren was very happy to tryout a couple new macarons, including Ludi’s Macaron (the oversized one with fresh raspberries and pistachio cream).  He especially enjoyed the seasonal pumpkin one!  He also opt’d for a Cafe au Lait with mint.

We also shared a Bavarois (a favorite in France).  It’s a almond biscuit layered with vanilla mousse.  It was quite nice.  The only downside was the red macaron shell was a bit soggy in the middle.  However, I’m pretty sure they’ll get this figured out quickly as they mentioned they were hard at work adjusting the humidity in the cases to optimal levels.  I also took home a perfect chocolate almond croissant, and a delicious Saint Barth (chocolate & passion fruit)!

Congratulations to Guillaume, Ludi, and the entire team for a fabulous new location and upholding the quality of your product.  Everything was delicious as always!  We can’t wait to come back.
