Tis the season to be jolly, fa la la la la, la la la la! My parents like to listen to Christmas music so these songs are set to repeat in my head at the moment. Can you believe 2014 is almost over? How did that happen? Hope you had a great year and a memorable holiday! We were sent an invitation to try out one of the Baskin Robbins holiday cakes. I must say this came in quite handy as I wasn’t sure if I would have time to make anything for my family Christmas party this year. I’ve never had one of these before, but when I saw what they looked like, I knew it would be a hit at the party.
I called the closest Baskin Robbins to my uncles house and scheduled a pick up at 7:45pm. They called me back later that day to inform me they forgot they would be closing early at 5:00pm because it was Christmas Eve (duh). This would mean we’d be the first to show up at my uncles house! Traffic was insane in LA. We left at 3:30pm and arrived at Baskin Robbins at 4:59pm. The lights were out, the chairs were on the tables, floors were cleaned, the doors were locked, and I thought for a moment that the staff probably went home early to celebrate. Luckily there was someone in there still finishing up and he let me in! Picking up a cake never felt so good. I can’t believe we made it in time.
People started grabbing dessert and once the flood gates are breached, there is no turning back. So suffice it to say I wasn’t able to grab many pictures before Mr. Snowman quickly became Houdini and disappeared. Luckily I was able to grab a shot of what is underneath that white snowy layer. I went with cookies and cream as the ice cream of choice. The kids and adults alike seemed to enjoy the design and the taste. You really can’t go wrong with an ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins. Add a themed design and you have a sure fire winner. There was a nice chocolate cake layer at the bottom which was also yummy. All in all, I think it was a success and I’m just lucky the Baskin Robbins employee allowed Mr. Snowman to attend our Christmas party this year.
Here are some other Christmas themed cakes they make for the holidays including santa himself and an elf. While I was looking at the choices I also saw they had a Thanksgiving themed cake they make. I’d be tempted to get the turkey just to be able to say I had turkey for dinner and for dessert!
