Whhhhhheeeeeewwwwww! That is the sound of me dusting off this many month old post. It has been sitting in drafts for far too long. I don’t recall why we were up in the area because I rarely venture outside my zone, but Michael and I made it out to Cafasso Meatball Company many moons ago. It doesn’t normally look like that…I think. By now the construction should be done.
We opted for a family meal that came with a salad, garlic bread, meatballs, and ravioli. The salad was your standard green salad. Nothing too crazy to report.
The garlic bread also was a no frills type experience. There wasn’t a huge garlicky taste to it.
We were seeing a pattern here with simple, straight forward Italian food. The ravioli with meat sauce underwhelmed us a bit. It lacked seasoning and didn’t excite us too much.
The meatballs hopefully would turn things around. After all, it’s in their restaurant name! When it came out I was happy they labeled them for us so we didn’t have to guess what was what. To our surprise the turkey was our favorite by far. It was the only one that oozed juice from the center and we wished we ordered more of that variety. Second place went to bacon, which wasn’t as juicy but had bacon. The third and fourth almost tie with the spicy chicken and spicy pork. They were fairly dry. If it wasn’t for the sauce, I don’t think we would have enjoyed eating them.
You can’t really tell from the picture but I was trying to get some of the juicy goodness from theย turkey meatball. I love meatballs in general but overall was disappointed in what we got here. Maybe they had an off day or we just didn’t order the right ones. It’s too bad because I like going to foo foo-less, simple places more than fancy joints. Oh well, we just gotta keep on eating to find the next happy meal!

No, the only dry meat I like is beef jerky! I hope you got a huge bowl of won ton soup by now.
posts get put off when you aren’t excited by them… seems to be reflected in the post too. keep ’em coming anyway ๐
Yeah, it sucks to be excited about something and then it not living up to what you had hoped. But it makes the good places even better. ๐
