What a cool name. Werewolf!
Werewolf is right in the heart of the Gaslamp district of downtown San Diego. Inside is a quaint and energetic bar & grill that is sure to appeal to many.
Service this evening was awesome and we were tended to by no less than 4 people… all who had different food recommendations. 😉
But, it was primarily Jason and Nick who helped us out this evening.
At least there was consensus amongst everyone to order the wings. These bad boys are prep’d with lots of love. After being marinated, they are baked, then flash fried, and finally charred on the grill. Whhaaaat??
You can actually make out the char on this picture.
The wings were sweet and savory. It came with the perfect spicy aioli dipping sauce.
We also got an order of the bulgogi nachos.
Honestly, they were just okay, so you’d be better served by getting 2 orders of wings.
I was feeling like something a bit different tonight, so the Full Boar (pork burger) caught my eye.
I was really glad to chose this one. It was perfectly cooked medium to medium well and it had a sweet spicy jalapeno blackberry jelly which was memorable.
It comes with a side order of fries, garlic fries, sweet potato fries, or brussel sprouts.
I chose the garlic fries which came out nice and hot!
Darren opt’d for a classic burger with an egg on top.
This was another excellent choice. The runny egg was fabulous (minus have to pick it up with my fingers… I don’t care for sticky fingers!).
Even you’re even more daring, you can get the Triple Threat which is this burger plus maple glazed pork belly!
The Menu is simple but intriguing. Next time we return, I’ll have to try out their Foghorn, or the Sweet Dee’s Steak & Cheese.
As you know, we’re not big drinkers, but I’m sure you’ll find something you like to drink here.
They had a fun karaoke night this Tuesday that we visited. Nick belted it out the first song in great style!
All in all, great service, great food, and lots of fun. They also have an all you can eat tacos special on Tuesdays! From what we could tell it was pretty popular.
Definitely, check out Werewolf the next time you’re in Gaslamp. You won’t be disappointed.
