Baskin-Robbins held a re-opening party Saturday to celebrate its newest location in Carmel Valley.

To solidify the new location’s standing in the community, new franchisee Ray Khajavi made a $250 donation to the Carmel Del Mar School. Carmel Del Mar students, parents and staff were invited to join in the fun along with representatives of the SDPD and City Council President Pro Tempore Sherri Lighter.

There was live music, face painting, balloon animals and a prize wheel; it was obvious the kids were loving every minute.

The party was also showcasing the February Flavor of the Month, Love Potion #31 Dark, a blend of chocolate ice cream, white chocolate bits, raspberry candy hearts and a raspberry ribbon. I had never tried this flavor and was really impressed, sweet, tart and romantically delicious.

Another fun fact I picked up at the event, San Diego is one of the only cities in the U.S. where Baskin-Robbins offers custom online cake orders. Take advantage while we’re ahead of the game!

It was great to see a national chain so deeply interested in one of our communities, something we’d all love to see more of. Baskin-Robbins is doing it right, swing by and check out the new location soon!
